The only way to the Haven is by invitation — and perhaps in dreams.

The Haven is a village that lies between the sea and the inland moors. It is a sleepy, peaceful old place, protected by the headland and cliffs which form a calm bay but also protected by much more than that.

The Haven is set in the world and yet a little outside it too. It cannot be visited or found by accident.

The village and surrounding lands is bounded by standing stones but the power that protects it goes much deeper.

The Haven is a place of absolute safety; it guards itself and all those who go there, so that the person who is invited is enclosed in complete tranquility, can go anywhere without fear and can sleep in utter peace.

There is a tiny harbour, an old inn, a shop with a tea garden, a community hall and outlying farms. The old houses are grown with roses and vines and stand in their own mature gardens. There is a small beach where one can see dolphins — the fishermen say they might really be mer-folk and consider them lucky.

Beyond the village street, in meadows between two woods, are a circle of ancient standing stones. In the summertime you can see the glow worms, and in the autumn, a faerie-ring of mushrooms grows.

From here you can see the deep and mysterious Faerie Wood, a place even the inhabitants only go when invited. Opposite it, a smaller wood where the Great Oak towers over the other trees. It is old, but far younger than the Yew in the midst of the Faerie Wood.

Small lanes wind through and around the Haven. There is a Pony Trap (It is rather like a free village taxi cab service) that will take people on rides through the village and up toward the distant and windy moors. Beyond the harbour lies a tiny railway station, and it is from here that the Dreamweaver leaves for its enchanted journeys.

This is the Haven, a guarded place filled with peace but also with magic.
